P3.8M marijuana seized in Manila

SOME P3.8 million worth of high-grade marijuana have been seized within a six-day period of operations conducted by the Manila Police District (MPD) in various areas in Manila.

The MPD said this was an offshoot of the arrest of a 16-year-old boy who was nabbed at the Tondo High School last March 4 with two plastic sachets of marijuana.

During interrogation, he identified his source and based on information he gave, police laid out an operation on Pavia Street in Tondo that resulted in the arrest of Reeve Ross Manuel, 25, and his partner Princess Mary Matuginas, 20, and a 17-year-old boy.

Also nabbed at 12:30 a.m. of March 10 based on the same information infront of the P. Gomez Elementary School in Sta. Cruz, Manila were John Paulo Matala, 21, Meigan De Guzman, 22, and Angelo Castillo, 25, of V. Luna, Pinyahan, Quezon City.

At 4:30 of the same day, police nabbed Jonathan Lachica, 22, of Brgy. Central Diliman, Quezon City.

In the said series of operations, police confiscated 1.037 kilos of marijuana worth P124,000; high-grade marijuana or kush weighing 3.2 kilos and worth P3.8 million.
