P6.8M shabu seized from 6 in Taguig sting

COMBINED agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Southern Police District on Saturday smashed a notorious drug den in Taguig City following an anti-narcotics operation which led in the seizure of a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million and the arrest of six suspects, PDEA chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva announced yesterday.

Arrested during the buy-bust operation and subsequent raid at no. 501 General Luna Street in Barangay Ususan, Taguig City at 12:30 p.m. Saturday were Ronald Cao alias ‘Komang,’46, Dave Estacio,34, Mary Ann Estacio,41, Sonny Silvestre,27, Jonathan Gabriel Paras,34,  and Allan Mark Dinglasan,51,.

Cao and  Mary Ann Estacio were both residents of the raided drug dive.  Paras, an upholstery shop supervisor is a resident of San Carlos St. in Bgy. Plainview, Mandaluyong City  while the other Estacio is a jobless resident of Guerrero St. in Bgy. Wawa, Taguig City.

On the other hand, Dinglasan is an insurance broker from F. Ortigas St., Bgy. Hagdang Bato-Itaas, Mandaluyong City while Silvestre is a resident of Katipunan  in Bgy. Bambang, Taguig City.

Villanueva said members of the PDEA National Capital Region led by Intelligence Officers Jill Salamanca and Charlemagne Tang and the Taguig City Police Station led by Captain Teodoro Bombase were involved in the operation which led in the confiscation of two plastic self-sealing bags each containing 500 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine,’ five opened plastic sachets with suspected shabu residue, various drug paraphernalia and a white Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up with Conduction Sticker P6U921.

In Cebu City, operatives of the PDEA Regional Office 7 arrested 47-year-old jeepney driver Edwin Saraosos during a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Basak-Pardo  at  7:40 p.m. last Friday, the PDEA chief said.

Villanueva said another target of the sting identified as Godofredo Largo alias ‘Jun/Jo, a known ‘high-value target’ in Cebu managed to escape arrest and is still being hunted as of press time.

The official said recovered during the sting were 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000, four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu residue, materials being used to repack the drugs and various drug sniffing paraphernalia.

In Cagayan de Oro City, PDEA Region 10 operatives, backed up by the local police smashed a drug den located at Bgy. 34 last Friday following a raid which resulted in the arrest of 10 suspects and the confiscation of an estimated P102,000 worth of shabu.

Villanueva identified the arrested suspects as Beboy Resma, 27, Joan  Ayunar, 25, Concharita Milla,25, Beverly Burlado, 26, Ricardo Canete, 50, Pepito Cerezo Jr., 36, Jason de Lara, 31, Jessi Villanueva, 24; Eduardo Guirigay,57, and Nievez Ricososa, 55,.

All suspects are now facing charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
