Pasay residents get SAP aid

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) started to distribute the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash to six barangays yesterday afternoon in Pasay City.

DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista personally supervised the distribution of P8,000 cash for each qualified Pasay city residents from Barangays 143, 86, 71, 13, 82 and 84 held inside the Pasay City West High School.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano who was still under her 14-day quarantine even though she tested negative for corona virus disease (COVID) 19 failed to witness the distribution but was represented by City Social Welfare Officer Rosalinda Orobia.

Before the distribution, Mayor Emi reminded the SAP beneficiaries to bring the required documents, including duplicate copy of their Special Amelioration Card, valid ID such as Senior Citizen ID, PWD ID or Solo Parent ID, individual Barangay Certificate, certification signed by Social Worker if homeless, certification signed by Tribal Leader for Muslim beneficiaries.

Pasay City Public Information Office (PIO) said the city DSWD will announce the schedule of another round of distribution of SAP for other barangays. PIO chief Eduardo “Jhun” Burgos said more than 40,000 qualified residents will receive P8,000 each from SAP.
