PDEA dismantles drug den

A notorious drug den in Makati City has been smashed by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency following a raid last Sunday which led in the arrest of five suspects including the dive maintainer, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino said yesterday.

Arrested during the raid  at no, 76 Acacia Street in Barangay Cembo, Makati City were Christopher Lagda alias ‘Bakla,’ the suspected drug den maintainer and his companions Andrew Benetiz, Herminio Buban, Glynn Jangao and Ronie Conlu.

According to Aquino, members of the PDEA National Capital Region Office recovered some 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia during the service of the search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by a local court.

The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PDEA chief said.
