Pedicab driver stabbed dead

A 37-YEAR-OLD pedicab driver was killed after being stabbed repeatedly by a still unidentified man in the middle of a street in Tondo, Manila early yesterday morning.

Reynaldo Macatangay, said to be a member of the ‘Commando Gang’, of Building 113 Sambahayan Moriones St., Tondo, died on the spot.

P/Master Sergeant Jansen San Pedro of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident took place at around 3:30 a.m. of July 4 at the corner of C.P. Garcia and Moriones Streets in  Barangay 123, Zone 9, Tondo, Manila.

Investigation showed that the residents heard a scream and when they went out to check, they saw a man sprawled on the street on a pool of his own blood.

The residents reported the matter to the Manila Police District-Station 1 and when the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) arrived, they found that the victim had multiple stabwounds in the different parts of the body. A small plastic sachet containing shabu was also found on him.

Police are still blank as to the motive and identity of the lone suspect.
