Philippine Statistic Authority loses P132K to thieves

UNIDENTIFIED thieves carted away close to P132,000 worth of cash, gadgets and personal belongings inside Express Lane Office (ELO) of Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) Satellite office Wednesday afternoon in Paranaque City.

Parañaque police chief Senior Supt. Rogelio Rosales said the incident was discovered past 1 p.m. after employees assigned at the ELO located at room 302, 3rd floor, Old Legislative Building of Parañaque City Hall went back after taking their lunch and discovered that the padlock of the office main door was forcibly destroyed.

When ELO Operation Manager Ronald Angelo Salas, 48, went inside, he discovered that two units of Ideapad laptop worth P30,000 each and Xperia cellular phone worth P12,000 were missing.

John Carl Edcel Manuel, 21, programmer, also discovered that his cellular phone worth P12,000 and P2,000 cash money were missing while Reygie Vasquez, 21, office staff, told police that his back pack bag containing personal belongings was also taken away by the suspects.

Led implementer of Project ELO Kennard Cabague, 21, told police investigators that his wallet containing P1,000 cash was missing while Kenjie Salas, 30, Information Technology staff of ELO also lost his wallet containing important documents and IDs, including his driver’s license, ATM cards and P4,000 cash.
Elements of Paranaque police immediately conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to identify and arrest the suspects.
