PUP student falls to death from 14th floor

AN engineering student from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) fell off from the 14th floor of a condominium building in Sta. Mesa, Manila the other night.

The victim, said to be a student taking Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering (BS-ECE) and residing in Sampaloc, Manila, landed at the construction site beside the said building.

A probe by PSSg Erikson Aguilar of the Manila Police District-homicide section said that the incident took place at 9:10 p.m. from the rooftop deck of the  El Pueblo Condominium located along Anona Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

A concerned citizen was said to have witnessed the incident and called up Hotline 911.  The Bacood police community precinct of the MPD-Station 8 responded along with  chairperson Cristina Lara of Barangay 630, Zone 63, who first saw the victim’s body.

Police gathered that the victim sent messages to Jericho Mejia, 19 and Christian Barcellano, 18, directing them to the rooftop, saying he would give them e-cigarettes.

When the two reached the rooftop, they were still inside the elevator when they saw the victim standing on the edge and told him to step down as what he was doing was dangerous.
