A MAN is now facing a string of criminal charges after he was arrested in a quarantine checkpoint in Quezon City for allegedly posing as a cop, for driving without a license and for possesion of illegal drugs.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brigadier General Ronnie S Montejo identified the suspect as Joselito Luz, 54, family driver and a resident of Bgy. West Crame, San Juan City.
Batasan Police Station (PS 6) Commander PLtCol Romulus Gadaoni said District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) personnel headed by PLtCol Christopher Olazo were conducting an Enhanced Community Quarantine checkpoint at about 6:10 PM, March 29, 2020 along Batasan-San Mateo Rd., Bgy. Batasan Hills when they flagged down Luz on board a gray Suzuki APV with plate number UOZ 147.
The suspect, who was reportedly wearing a police athletic shirt, introduced himself as a policeman. He was asked for his police identification but failed to show it. Luz did not also carry with him his driver’s license instead, he showed a traffic violation receipt.
The uneasy suspect was frisked and yielded a sachet of shabu valued at P2,500. He was brought to PS 6 for disposition.
