Former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino yesterday called on the Department of Public Works and Highways to reconsider its decision closing Rockwell Bridge, which connects Mandaluyong City and Makati City’s posh Rockwell area, on January 19.
Tolentino, the former chairperson of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), urged the DPWH to rethink the closure as he expressed grave concern over the horrendous traffic buildup Rockwell Bridge’s closure will surely spawn.
He noted that the bridge’s construction for over two years would only worsen the traffic situation along EDSA Avenue and peripheral roads.
