‘Salisi’ preying on NAIA passengers arrested

September 26, 2018

AN alleged notorious member of the ‘Salisi Gang’, said to have been preying on passengers at the NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City, was arrested by members of the Airport Police Department (APD).

The suspect was identified as Joseph Pascasio, who, according to the APD, is a recidivist who had been in and out of jail for victimizing mostly female passengers, duping them of their hard-earned money.

The latest of such incidents took place on September 23, when Pascasio allegedly duped a woman, identified as Alvina Aragat of Bgy. Waan, Davao City, who was bound for Dubai.

It was learned that Pascasio took P500 from the victim and then took her Philippine passport after introducing himself as an immigration officer.  Moments later, he reportedly texted the victim asking for P3,000 in exchange for the return of her passport.

When the help of authorities was sought by the victim, a manhunt operation was conducted by the APD’s Intelligence and Investigation Division at the NAIA Terminal 3, until the suspect was spotted the other night and arrested.

Authorities were able to recover from him the victim’s passport along with a plastic sachet that, based on subsequent tests, showed positive for shabu.

The suspect was charged with theft, usurpation of authority and illegal possession of prohibited drugs.
