SPECIAL Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go extended assistance to victims of the fire that razed 50 shanties in Mandaluyong City on Saturday.
City Mayor Menchie Abalos and husband, former Mayor Benhur Abalos, with Mandaluyong police chief Senior Supt, Moises Villaceran Jr. supervised the visit of Go to the fire victims at Bgy. Mauway covered court.
Earlier, Abalos extended immediate assistance to the residents affected by the fire at Blocks 4 & 5 in Bgy. Mauway.
The City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) reported that 50 families (150 individuals) have already received relief goods, sleeping mats and hygiene kits who are presently housed at Bgy. Mauway Gymnasium. Food provisions are also provided by the local government.
The affected house owners, sharers and renters will also receive financial assistance (emergency shelter assistance).
Yesterday, the top presidential aide paid a visit at around 1 a.m. and delivered cash assistance and grocery packs to some 150 families.
Go also promised to give the support for the housing project, housing materials, hospitalization and healthcare, school supplies and provide fare assistance to those who want to go back to their respective provinces. The activity ended peacefully.
