THREE family members, including a father and son, were injured after they were attacked and stabbed by their neighbor who went berserk Sunday evening in Navotas City.
Salvador Rubinas, 61, and his son Adrian, 30, both of Block 33, Lot 51, Phase 2, Area 2, in Bgy. North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), were rushed to Tondo Medical Center for treatment of stab wounds in the body. Their relative, Jennifer Rubinas, 35, suffered a broken nose when she was punched repeatedly in the face.
Navotas police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ferdinand Balgoa said the suspect was identified as Romelito Vicencio, Jr., a seaman, and resident of Block 33, Lot 49, Phase 2, Area 2, Tumana, NBBS.
Prior to the incident, the victims were at the basketball court on Block 33, Tumana at around 7:30 p.m. when the suspect came and for no apparent reason attacked them.
Jennifer who witnessed the incident tried to pacify the suspect but he vented his ire on her and punched her repeatedly in the face.
The suspect tried to escape but was arrested by responding policemen.
Charges of frustrated double murder and physical injuries will be filed by police against Vicencio before the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office.
