A SEPTUAGENARIAN man landed in jail after he attempted to rape again the 14-year-old daughter of his tenant Friday evening in Navotas City, police said.
Navotas police chief Col. Rolando Balasabas said Elizer Villacarlos, 71, jobless, of Blk 14 Lot 28 Bisugo St., North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), was arrested by elements of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) following a complaint lodged by 39-year-old mother of the victim who caught the suspect in the act of attempting to rape her daughter.
Investigation showed that while the victim was alone in their rented room at around 6:15 p.m., the suspect, who was their landlord, barged inside and ordered the girl to undress.
The victim’s mother arrived and caught him in the act of attempting to rape her daughter.
Col. Balasabas said the girl admitted to the police in front of her mother that she had been raped twice by the suspect but kept silent after their landlord threatened her with harm if she told anyone about her ordeal.
Police said they will wait for the result of physical examination on the victim to determine if they will charge the suspect with rape instead of attempted rape.
