CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan ordered on Friday evening the closure of a computer shop reportedly producing fake COVID-19 test results.

Mayor Oca directed Atty. Emmanuel Vergara, chief of the Caloocan Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), to close the TJ Computer Shop located along Maligaya Park, Bgy. 177 which is adjacent to the Maligaya Elementary School in Quezon  City earlier raided by the Quezon City Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Apart from producing fake COVID-19 certificates.  Mayor Oca said the BPLO discovered that the computer shop was operating without a business permit.

The city chief executive assured the city government will fully cooperate with the investigation and in the filing of charges against the owner of the shop.

He added that the city police will also help locate the man who asked to scan and photoshop the result of a COVID-19 test to another name.

Mayor Oca urged the public to report such illegal activity to the proper authority.

"Tayo ay nasa isang pandemya kung saan dapat ay magtulungan. Alang-alang sa kaligtasan at kapakanan ng lahat, nawa'y hindi tayo humantong sa ganitong mga gawain," Mayor Oca advised the public.
