A security guard was shot and killed by still unidentified assailant while talking to his neighbor Tuesday evening in Las Piñas City.
Las Piñas police chief Senior Supt. Simnar Gran said Elmer Bambao, 42, of Blk 6 Lot 26 Candido Ramos Drive, Bgy. Talon succumbed to a lone bullet wound in the side of the body while being treated at the Las Piñas Medical Center.
Homicide investigators PO3 Al-Shahriff Uy and PO1 Raxam Florence Castor said that while the victim and his neighbor, identified as Renson Adovas, 23, were having conversation in front of a mini mart located at the corner of Candido Ramos Drive and Casoy St., at around 10 p.m., a lone gunman appeared and without a word shot Bambao once in the body.
After the killing, the suspect immediately fled on foot towards an unknown direction while Adovas sought the help of his neighbors in bringing the victim to the nearest hospital.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered an empty shell for still unknown caliber of firearm from the crime scene while operatives of Las Piñas Police Community Precinct (PCP) 5 led by SPO1 Marvin Atas immediately conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to arrest the suspect.
