KEY officers of the Northern Police District headed by Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan are all negative for the COVID-19 virus, National Capital Region Police Office director, Major Gen. Debold M. Sinas announced yesterday.
According to Sinas, the top NPD officials underwent the COVID-19 Qualitative Detection by Real-Time PCR at the Chinese General Hospital last April 23. Apart from Ylagan, members of the NPD Command Group and key directorial staff and the head of the District Mobile Force Battalion took the test.
“Fortunately, all the NPD key officials are negative of SARS-COV-2, the caucasive agent of COVID-19,” said.
"It is indeed a relief to know that NPD's key officers tested negative for COVID-19. We are guaranteed that they are all able to perform their duties well and fit in leading the northern cops,” he added.
As of yesterday, PNP Health Service director, Brigadeir Gen. Herminio S. Tadeo Jr. said there’s are a total of 83 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the PNP with 126 listed as Probable Persons Under Investigation and another 567 as Suspected PUIs.
Three policemen have died after contracting the disease while 12 have already recovered, he said.
