A SINGLE mother reportedly having personal problems jumped from the 12th floor of a condominium building yesterday before noon in Malate, Manila.
Police identified the victim as ‘Cristine’, of Davao City’, who was said to have jumped from her unit at the 12th floor of the Burgundy West Tower located at 820 P. Ocampo St., in Malate, Manila.
Earlier, the management of the condominium building sought the help of Barangay Chairman Jaime Adriano at around 11:10 a.m. after seeing the victim standing on the ledge at the 12th floor and about to jump.
Adriano together with barangay kagawad Ligaya Ama and barangay tanod Nonoy Eresmas immediately responded to the place in a bid to convince and stop the victim. However, they were too late, the victim jumped to her death a few seconds upon their arrival.
Police said the victim left her three-year-old child to her brother.
Meanwhile, Shau Chang Yee, 69, a holder of a dual citizen passport as Chinese-American national, also jumped to his death from the 4th floor of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 Thursday night in Pasay City.
NAIA Airport Police said the victim arrived in Manila last January 28 from Hong Kong via Cebu Pacific flight 5J-119.
Airport policemen are still gathering information if the victim stayed inside the NAIA Terminal 3 upon his arrival or went out to look for a hotel.
