A 27-year-old single mom reportedly leapt to her death at a condominim building in Malate, Manila late morning yesterday.
The victim, identified as ‘Cristine’, of Davao City,’ was said to have jumped from the 12th floor of the Burgundy West Tower located at 820 P.Ocampo St., Malate, Manila and died upon landing on the fourth floor of the said building. It was learned that prior to the incident, the management of the said condominium building sought help from Barangay Chairman Jaime Adriano at 11:10 a.m. after seeing the victim positioning herself on the ledge and obviously planning to jump off.
Right away, Adriano went to the place with Barangay Kagawad Ligaya Ama and barangay tanod Nonoy Eresmas, and arrived at 11:12 a.m. As he rushed to get to the victim to try and convince her not to push through with her plan, the victim jumped.
Adriano said he could no get over the fact that it was just a matter of seconds upon his arrival when the victim decided to jump and that he did not have a chance to talk to her.
It was learned that from her Unit, at No.1207, the victim crawled about ten meters more on the side of a small beam, as she tried positioning her landing right on Vito Cruz Street.
The victim was said to be staying in her condo unit with his brother and three-year-old child. She was said to have personal problems.
