A warehouse of a plastic manufacturing company in Pandacan, Manila yesterday caught fire, causing a part of the Skyway project being constructed in the area to give way.
A report from the Manila Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that the fire began at 10:36 a.m. at the warehouse of a San Miguel Corporation plant located on Tomas Claudio Street in Pandacan.
The fire reportedly melted pieces of steel in the ongoing Skyway construction project, causing part of it to fall. No one got hurt.
The twin incident caused traffic congestion in the area so that motorists were directed to an alternative route.
The fire was contained at around 2 p.m. Its cause and estimated damage to property remain unknown.
