A 50-year-old waiter the other night was found dead inside his rented room in Intramuros, Manila.
The Manila Police District-Homicide section said the foul odor led residents to the body of victim Raul Gomez, an on-call waiter at the Patio Victoria and residing on Basco Street, Intramuros, Manila.
Police said the stench raised concern among neighbors that something bad had happened to Gomez.
When their repeated knocking on his door went unanswered, they immediately sought help from the barangay.
The door was forcibly opened by the barangay authorities who found the victim lifeless around 9:30 p.m.
The victim’s sister-in-law Michelle Almasin, 39, told probers that before he was found dead, the victim had a drinking session with his friends.
