POLICE arrested a 19-year-old criminology student involved in robbing two minors of their motorcycle, gadgets and cash while his cohort managed to elude arrest shortly after midnight yesterday in Valenzuela City.
Valenzuela police chief Senior Supt. David Nicolas Poklay identified the arrested suspect as Angelo Cuabo, of No. 20 A. Yellow St. Bgy. Potrero, Malabon City while his cohort, Harvey Soriano, of Malvar St., Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City managed to escape.
Investigation conducted by PO3 Jennifer Delas Nadas and PO2 Ana Grace Mendoza of Valenzuela Police Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) showed that at around 12:30 a.m., while the victims, who were both minors, were on board a Mio 125 motorcycle and travelling along MacArthur Highway, the suspects appeared and blocked their path in Bgy. Dalandadan.
The suspects forcibly took the victims’ motorcycle, cellular phone, power bank, vape cigarette and P2,500 cash then escaped towards Caloocan City.
The victims immediately sought the assistance of police prompting personnel of Detective Management Unit (DMU) and Police Community Precinct (PCP) to conduct a follow-up operation that resulted in the arrest of Cuabo along Gen. Tinio St., Morning Breeze, Caloocan City.
Senior Supt. Poklay said the stolen motorcycle and other personal belongings of the victims were recovered by police.
