TAGUIG City Mayor Lito Cayetano decided to move the deadline for the payment of taxes, fees and charges from May 20 to June 30, 2020 in response to the impacts of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) on citizens.
Through Executive Order No. 09, Mayor Cayetano extended the deadlines for all kinds of taxes and other financial obligations, due and payable to the Taguig City Government during the period of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
City Public Information Office (PIO) head Maricar Brizuela said the executive order specifically applies for the extension of payment of local business taxes, real property taxes, amusement taxes, transfer and corresponding city taxes and also applies for the extension of rents, charges and other financial obligations to the city government.
Brizuela also clarified that the order ensures that the dues would not incur penalties, surcharges and interests.
Meanwhile, the city government of Taguig handed yesterday P4,000 crisis assistance to 956 farmers and fishermen and 1,063 vendors who trooped to the Mercado Del Lago in Bgy. Lower Bicutan.
Mayor Cayetano also announced that a house-to-house distribution of crisis assistance will be provided to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) for their medicine maintenance and other daily expenses.
