Technical probe on hit-run car launched

PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino on Tuesday launched a program to promote  drug-free workplace in all business establishments and subdivisions in Pasig City.

Aquino’s special project was first launched in Quezon City last February 21 and aimed at engaging the management of business areas, private subdivisions and their security agencies to implement their own drug-free workplace program, educate employees on the ill-effects of dangerous drugs, and conduct random drug tests for all their officers and employees.

The official said that these are all embodied in Dangerous Drugs Board No.8, Series of 2003 or “The Guidelines for the Implementation of a Drug-Free Workplace Policies and Programs for the Private Sector.

This anti-drug advocacy program, he explained was not mainly for the promotion of a drug-free workplace but also rather to stir awareness on the modus operandi used by drug syndicates such as using high-end subdivisions, hotels, and condominiums as drug dens, laboratories and warehouses to conceal their illegal activities.
