Tension grips Pasig school due to bomb scare

TENSION gripped a private school in Pasig City due to bomb threat sent through text yesterday morning.

In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director chief Senior Supt.Bernabe Balba, operatives of the Pasig Police Station Special Weapons and Tactics Explosives Ordnance Division (SWAT-EOD) were sent at around 9:25 a.m. yesterday to Reedley International School on C.J. Cruz St., Bgy. Ugong, Pasig City, after a bomb threat was sent through text which turned out to be hoax.

Reports said Station Tactical Operations Center received a call from head master Jerome Castro about the bomb threat in their school.

Police said the anonymous texter reportedly informed the school receptionist that a bomb was placed inside the school premises.

The school receptionist immediately informed the school officials about the bomb threat after receiving information from an anonymous texter that a bomb is set to explode.

“Your school is going to down in a few hours. An explosive was sneaked inside your building early this morning at around 6:45 a.m.-7 a.m. via a student’s bag,” according to the text message received.  

When police teams arrived, school employees and students were informed about the bomb scare.

Operatives of EOD with the K-9 units were immediately deployed to the area to conduct search and paneling.

Authorities ordered an immediate evacuation of all employees and students.

However, after a thorough inspection, they failed to find any bombl.

At 12:35 p.m., the authorities declared the premises clear of any presence of bomb. Classes were suspended.
