A report from the Manila Police District (MPD) said the incident took place at around 1 a.m. near the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Remedios Street in Malate, Manila.

The truck, marked ‘Manila Bay Task Force,’ was said to have come from Pampanga and was being driven by Michael Lagco when it fell into a huge hole on its way to the Baywalk.

Lagco told the police that he was supposed to take Roxas Boulevard but was told by traffic enforcers in the area to take the service road instead because of the Manila Marathon 2019 event in the area.
