THE University of Sto. Tomas received a bomb threat yesterday, similar to the one received earlier by the Mapua University.
It was learned that the threat was received via text message by a student and contained the same wordings as the one received the other day by a construction engineer at Mapua University.
The Manila Police District-Explosive and Ordnance Division (MPD-EOD) said the threat came at 9:26 a.m. and relayed to a freshman medical technology student. The sender was supposedly from the New People’s Army (NPA).
The student immediately informed the. management of the UST which, in turn, related the information to the police.
The EOD conducted the necessary inspection and declared the university clear at around 12 noon.
The UST did not suspend classes or carry out any evacuation.
