Vendor shoots noisy man with mental illness

A 32-YEAR-OLD vendor landed in jail after shooting a mentally-challenged  man for shouting continuously in Tondo, Manila the other day.

Charges  of frustrated murder and violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were filed against suspect Ariel  Sallili, of No. 117 Trinidad St. in Tondo. Victim Johnson Castillo, 54, of  No. 119 Repolyo St.also in Tondo, was rushed to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Investigation showed that the shooting took place at 4:30 p.m. Witness Raniel Jaine,19, told the police that the suspect was in a drinking session at the third floor of the building where the victim lives.

When the victim began shouting continuously from the roofdeck, the suspect got irritated, took a firearm and proceeded to where the victim was and shot him.  The suspect then allegedly hid his gun in a rooster’s cage.

The victim’s family lodged a complaint with the police who conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect.  The gun he used was recovered, along with 14 live ammunition.
