A 38-year-old woman who had repeatedly rejected his former partner’s offer for reconciliation was stabbed and killed by the suspect Saturday in Tondo, Manila.
Janet Santos, of No. 783 Interior 31, Ma. Guizon St., Daang Bakal, Tondo, Manila, sustained multiple stab wounds in the body and was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Tondo.
The suspect identified as Patrick Francisco Ramos, 71, of Laong Nasa Street in Tondo, Manila, also died from a massive heart attack a few hours later.
SPO1 Jorlan Taluban of the Manila Police District-homicide section said the stabbing took place at around 1 p.m. inside the victim’s house.
The victim was reportedly doing her laundry when the suspect arrived and offered reconciliation. The victim rejected the suspect. Ramos drew a knife and stabbed the victim several times and then fled. The victim’s neighbors rushed her to the hospital but she did not make it.
At around 8:29 p.m., the MPD’s homicide section received a call from the Tondo General Hospital reporting that the suspect suffered a massive heart attack and died there.
Police theorized that anger, depression and anxiety might have caused Ramos’ heart attack.
The suspect’s children told probers that they were planning to surrender their father to the police before he suffered a cardiac arrest.
