TWO Supreme Court justices yesterday vehemently denied insinuations linking them to an alleged plot to destabilize the Duterte administration.
Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and Associate Justice Marvic Leonen laughed off their inclusion in a list of individuals and groups allegedly involved in the ouster plot.
The list was first posted by presidential son and former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte to his Facebook page.
“I consider that as a joke. It’s laughable,” Carpio said.
Carpio found the list as incredible because it included even loyal supporters of the President.
“The cast of characters include Victor Corpus, who is very pro-Duterte, and also Carmen Pedrosa, who si rabidly pro-Duterte, so I cannot imagine how these people can be destabilizers,” he said.
When asked why he was included in the list, Carpio said: “Well since I’m always in the news it did not surprise me anymore.”
For his part, Leonen shrugged off the list and claimed in his Twitter account: ”I am vegan. I do not collude nor conspire with Jollibee.”
The list tagged politicians, bishops, former Cabinet members, journalists, civil society leaders and companies in the supposed ouster plot.
