THE National Police Commission yesterday announced that the national police will be having more than 3,000 new policemen while more than 4,000 officers passed the promotional tests.
A total of 3,742 police wannabes successfully passed the Philippine National Police entrance examination while 4,410 hurdled the promotional tests conducted last October 21 in designated schools in Metro Manila and other testing centers nationwide.
According to Napolcom vice chairman and executive officer attorney Rogelio Casurao, there were 32,912 civilian examinees who tried for the police entrance test but only 3,742 or 11.37 percent passed.
The exam was a requirement for initial appointment to the rank of Police Officer.
Only 4,410 or 34.99% of the 12,602 police examinees who took the promotional tests successfully passed, with 1,826 in the Police Officer Exam; 2,189 in the Senior Police Officer Exam; 312 in the Inspector Exam; and 83 in the Superintendent Exam.
“The immediate release of the results of police exams is in consonance with the Commission’s commitment with the PNP and the Department of Budget and Management to make the examination results in sync with the police recruitment process,” Casurao said.
The list of successful examinees will be posted at the Napolcom central office located at the DILG-Napolcom Center, Napolcom Bldg., Edsa Corner Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City, and can be viewed at the Napolcom website at www.napolcom. gov.ph.
Individual reports of rating will be mailed to all examinees. Verification of test results will be entertained at the Napolcom central and regional offices within the month.
