SIX more Philippine National Police personnel have been confirmed to be COVID-19 positive yesterday bringing to 65 the number of police uniformed and non-uniformed men to be afflicted by the deadly virus, officials said.
According to PNP Health Service director, Brigadier General Herminio S. Tadeo Jr., the six are composed of four males with ages 47, 36,33 and 29 while the two others are females with ages 36 and 29. All are assigned in Metro Manila.
Tadeo said as of yesterday, there are already 501 Suspected and 51 Probable police personnel infected by the virus. PNP chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa has ordered the PNP-HS to ensure that the policemen afflicted by the virus would be properly taken cared of and placed under daily monitoring along with their families.
The official said 40 personnel have been admitted; 4 confirmed Home-Quarantined; eight have recovered and three have passed away after contacting the deadly diseases.
Tadeo said they also recorded a total of 51 PNP personnel who are categorized as Probable Persons Under Investigation (Probable PUIs) composed of 13 Police Commissioned Officers, 36 Police Non-Commissioned Officers and two Non-Uniformed Personnel.
On the other hand, there are total of 501 personnel recommended as Suspected Persons Under Investigation consisting of 110 PCOs; 358 PNCOs; and 33 NUPs.
A total of 557 personnel which includes 173 Probable PUIs and 383 Suspected PUIs have completed self/home quarantine, he added.
Tadeo said that the NHQ PNP COVID-19 Patient Care Center in Camp Crame has already admitted 37 PNP personnel listed as PUIs and who undergo self-quarantine including 10 PCOs, 24 PNCOs, and three NUPs while the Spring Hotel admitted a total of 103 personnel composed of 13 PCOs, 70 PNCOs, 12 NUPs and eight civilian employees.
