THE Sandigabayan will announce on December 7 its decision on the plunder case of former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.

In an order released last November 5, the First Division is set to promulgate its decision after four years of trial.

Revilla was charged with plunder and multiple counts of graft over his alleged involvement in the multi-billion peso pork barrel fund scam.

“The Court hereby sets the promulgation of the decision of this case on December 7, 2018, at 8:30 in the morning,” the Sandiganbayan said.

Revilla has been under detention since 2014 since he was not allowed to post bail, unlike former Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada who also has plunder cases.

The justices who will decide Revilla’s fate are Efren dela Cruz, Geraldine Faith Econg, and Edgardo Caldona.

The Office of the Ombudsman accused Revilla of pocketing P224.5 million in kickbacks from his pork barrel, through his former chief of staff Richard Cambe.

Revilla allegedly connived with businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles in using the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) through a fake non-government organization of Napoles.

Earlier, Bacoor Mayor Lani Revilla, wife of the former actor-turned-politician, said they are confident he will be home for Christmas this year.

In one of the court trials, Benhur Luy  pinned down  Revilla saying “Segurista si Madame (referring to Napoles), hindi siya magbibigay ng pera kay Attorney Cambe kung wala silang agreement ni Revilla.”

Revilla is running for senator again in the 2019 mid-term elections.
