THE Sandiganbayan First Division yesterday granted the request of former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. to cancel his December 6, 2018 graft trial hearing to prepare for his December 7, 2018 plunder promulgation.
The anti-graft court’s division, headed by Associate Justice Efren dela Cruz, approved the motion filed by Revilla’s counsel, lawyer Reody Anthony Balisi and moved to January 10, 2019 the next graft trial hearing.
“The hearing on December 6, as prayed for by Atty. Balisi is hereby canceled,” said dela Cruz.
Revilla, his former chief of staff Richard Cambe and alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles will face the plunder promulgation next month.
According to the anti-graft division’s supplemental order on November 5, the justices are set to issue the verdict on Revilla at 8:30 in the morning of December 7.
Earlier, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla expressed confidence that Revilla will be home before Christmas.
