MALACAÑANG yesterday confirmed the “Oust-Duterte plot.”
The plot matrix has linked media organizations and journalists to the destabilization efforts against President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration.
“The source of that (matrix) is from the Office of the President, from the President himself. I don’t know how he got one, but it’s coming from the President,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a Palace briefing.
The media groups tagged as destabilizers are Vera Files, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) and Rappler.
The National Union of People’s Lawyers (NUPL) was also included in the matrix.
Sara on coup plot
Hugpong ng Pagbabago chairperson Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte wants to give media the benefit of the doubt in reporting issues concerning the administration.
In an interview after the campaign sortie in Cotabato City, Mayor Duterte was asked to comment on the matrix of an ouster plot against President Rodrigo Duterte.
According to the presidential daughter, it is better if the source of the matrix would come out in the open and tell the public who are plotting the coup.
“Mas maganda siguro kung lalabas ang source, kung sino ang source na gumawa ng matrix,” she said.
However, the HNP founder expressed no ill-feelings against media outfits mentioned in the matrix and said media should be allowed to decide what the people should know.
“Hindi ko alam kung may concerted effort sila, but alam nyo let’s give the media entity the benefit of the doubt kung ano sa tingin nila ang dapat na ibalita o karapat-dapat na isulat sa mga tao,” she added.
Reports said that there is a plot to discredit or destabilize the government of President Duterte.
Some media groups will allegedly coordinate for the timely publication of anti-Duterte stories including fake news.
But according to Mayor Duterte-Carpio, who is also the HNP senatorial candidates’ campaign manager, this negative publicity usually comes out during an election.
“Usually kasi ang mga ganyan na mga issues mainit at matindi talaga yan during campaign and during elections. Expected na yan, meron ganyan lalo na pag national elections,” she added.
