Defensor apologizes to Sara

ANAKALUSUGAN party-list Rep. Mike Defensor apologized to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte for showing a text message to some House reporters that said that she was allegedly urging members of the House to vote according to their conscience.

Mayor Sara denied the text message came from her and even dared Defensor to divulge his source.

Defensor admitted that he offended Mayor Sara however he clarified that he did not say the text came from the presidential daughter.

“I did not say it came from her or a congressman. In fact, I should not have shown it because reading it again it had Inday Sara’s name. I did say though that there was another person who got the same message,” Defensor said.

“I apologize Ma’am if I have offended you,” he added.

During the appreciation dinner for former Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Defensor showed a text message to the reporters that read “Kaya nananawagan siya ngayon sa lahat ng mga Congressmen na bumoto ayon sa kanilang kagustuuhan dahil ang kanyang ama ay na set-up lamang ng mg gahaman na gabinete na kaalyado ni Cayetano.” – Mayor Inday.

According to Defensor, his  mention of the congressman was in reference to the meeting they had with the partylist coalition after the President’s announcement of his decision on the speakership contest.
