‘Dengvaxia-related’ deaths now 102
THE “Dengvaxia-related” deaths have surpassed the 100th mark.
As of this writing, there are already 102 recipients whose cadavers have undergone forensic examination, according to forensic experts of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).
The eight who raised the total to 102 included Theresa Mae A. Romano, Baron Rock B. Miranda, King Martin Luther Ancheta, Julienne Kailey D. Vidallo, Akira Mae L. Zarate, Friendly G. Mendoza,. Carl Guillier D. Alfaro, Kyla Nicole S. Macasaquit and . Levon Zirine C. Santos.
Cause of death is the common pattern of symptoms and relatively same gross forensic findings.
Dr. Erwin Erfe, director of the PAO forensic laboratory, stressed that their reports on the Dengvaxia- linked deaths were all based not only from clinical records but also from clinical history, forensic examination of the body and histopathology slides.
“(We) have 12 doctors in the PAO Team including two pathologists from UE and Ospital ng Maynila,” he added.
Complainants and Friends of PAO are confident that the truth will prevail in the end and justice will be served them even as they lamented efforts to water down the PAO forensic findings.
Malacañang earlier vowed justice for children who allegedly died after receiving dengue vaccine Dengvaxia and who are represented in the case by PAO headed by Chief Public Attorney Dr. Persida V. Rueda Acosta..
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said President Rodrigo Duterte was monitoring issues surrounding the vaccine, used in government’s anti-dengue vaccination program halted last year due to concerns over its possible harmful effects.
