THE Department of Justice (DoJ) yesterday vowed to go after individuals harboring Peter Joemel Advincula alias ‘Bikoy’ who has been tagged in the “Ang Totoong Narco List” videos linking President Rodrigo Duterte and his family to the illegal drugs trade.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra stressed Advincula is now considered a fugitive due to the outstanding arrest warrants against him for estafa and illegal recruitment cases and thus, his coddlers could face charges.
“Coddlers of fugitives are criminally liable for obstruction of justice. Those who are proven to be helping Advincula to hide from authorities will face cases,” Guarvarra warned.
However, Guevarra revealed the government is not considering putting up a bounty for Advincula’s arrest like in the case of former police official Eduardo Acierto.
“There’s no need to put a bounty for his arrest. We’re confident that he will be apprehended quite soon,” Guevarra revealed.
The DoJ has alerted the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to monitor and prevent possible flight of Advincula.
