DPWH mourns death of suspected virus victim

THE Department of Public Works and Highways mourned the passing of one of its personnel, who suspectedly succumbed to the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19).

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar asked for prayers for his colleague, who died Monday, worked in the PICC Quarantine Facility.

“He exhibited diarrhea and was already tested for COVID-19. We are now awaiting results of the test. Please join us in praying for him and his family,” he said.

Villar said the DPWH has already contacted the members of his family and has extended assistance.

He added that they have started with the process of contact tracing.

“We will voluntarily submit to self-quarantine while awaiting the results from RITM,” the DPWH chief said.
