MALACANANG officials and the Presidential Security Group yesterday said there is no truth to rumors that President Rodrigo Duterte has been hospitalized at Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan.
“Not true. He should probably be in his quarters and resting like what I will do in a few minutes. Thanks for understanding,” Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said in a text message sent to reporters.
“For info, as of last night and today no such incident involving the President took place,” PSG spokesperson Captain Zeerah Blanche Lucrecia said in a text message to media.
Lucrecia however said she could not disclose Duterte’s location.
“My apologies. I hope you understand that due to security protocols, we cannot divulge the President’s location,” she wrote.
“However we can assure you that the President is well and good,” Lucrecia said.
The rumors said Duterte has been confined at the San Juan hospital since the other day.
In Bahay Pagbabago
President Duterte yesterday posed for a picture to prove he is alive and well after ‘rumors’ of his confinement at a hospital circulated.
In the picture, Duterte was seen holding the morning’s newspaper in casual clothes while inside the Bahay Pagbabago in the Malacañang Complex. With him was his former special assistant, winning senatorial bet Bong Go.
Another photo of Duterte shows him sharing a meal with Go.
Meanwhile, his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña also denied that the President was in Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
“I dare tell you guys to check all the rooms in Cardinal,” Avanceña said in a statement.
