PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte lashed out at his critics anew, underscoring his resolve to take responsibility for the violent war against drugs.

“Human rights, fine, you can shout to the heavens. You can call God and intervene for if you continue to sell shabu, cocaine and the drugs that are deleterious and toxic and can cause death to the Filipinos, I will kill you. Period,” he said at the inauguration of the Moscati Meadows Residential Treatment facility in Laur, Nueva Ecija.

Duterte added that he presided over a meeting with military officials discussing problems related to the anti-drug campaign.

“So what are we going to do? I have said to the military. But four days ago, we had a command conference, tapusin na natin ito sa panahon ko, while I’m still here ready to assume singly. I will assume full legal responsibility for whatever it is. And they can hang me if they want. No problem,” he said.

“I like hanging. It’s kind of nice to feel your throat being… I saw it in the movies. Some are — I don’t know if they’re crying but some are laughing. And I said, I can kill an enemy. But to the drugs people, I can kill you for nothing, ‘ika nga ng Mexicano,” he added.

With the uphill campaign against eliminating illegal drugs in the country, Duterte expressed his gratitude for efforts to set up treatment facilities to rehabilitate drug addicts.

“Kaya I’m happy na there are some Filipinos, well-meaning ones, who would like to help us. And for those who can really afford, you have this kind of facility whether it’s a higher level of rebuilding and rehabilitating your character and your brain,” he said.
