SENATE committee on economic affairs chairman Senator Sherwin Gatchalian is set to call for another hearing to further scrutinize the contracts entered by the administration with regards to the loans made with China.
Gatchalian said that it is imperative for the public to know the content of the contracts through the Senate hearing.
Meanwhile, the senator is glad that the Department of Finance has already uploaded on its website the contract after he publicly asked the government for transparency with their dealings with China amid public fear that the Philippines will fall with what some call as “China debt trap”.
“In fairness sa DOF, after three days inupload nila loan docs, kaya napag aralan natin,” he said.
Along with this, Gatchalian said he is set to amend the laws concerning loans for infrastructure in order to protect Filipino workers in the country.
