Go said as he called on all Filipinos to do what they can to be of service to those in need amid the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) public health emergency throughout the country.

In a radio interview, Go stressed that it is imperative to make sure that much needed assistance reaches intended beneficiaries as calls for donations for medical supplies, personal protective equipment (PPEs), and relief goods are being initiated by the private sector to augment the supply coming from the government.

“Hindi importante ang recognition sa pagtulong,” Go said, reiterating that it is the shared responsibility of every Filipino to help resolve the crisis immediately.

The senator, who is also a member of the Joint Oversight Committee overseeing the implementation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, assured the public that his office is always open to serve as a bridge between private entities who wish to give donations and their intended beneficiaries.

Go also downplayed the need to thank him for linking these private entities to their intended beneficiaries or for responding to the calls for help from frontliners and poor communities.

He reiterated that he is simply doing his job as a public servant and senator, on top of making sure that the right policies are in place and government programs are being implemented properly during these trying times.

Wala pong nakalagay na 'honorable' o 'senator' d'yan," he stressed.

The senator strongly denounced the malicious and false claims circulating on social media which accuse him of labeling medical donations with his name.

Go said that it is unfortunate that some individuals are wasting their time to spread fake news instead of doing their part in the “bayanihan” efforts.

Go continues to reassure the public that he and the President are working 24/7 to serve the Filipino people.

Ending the interview, the senator thanked all Filipinos for cooperating with the measures undertaken by the government to control the spread of COVID-19, assuring them that they are doing their best to manage the situation.

Mahal namin kayo," he said.
