Gordon recommends raps vs Fajardo, others

December 17, 2018

THE Senate Blue Ribbon Committee yesterday has recommended the filing of criminal charges against the personalities involved in the P11-billion shabu shipment contained hidden inside the discovered magnetic lifters in Cavite.

In a 45-page committee report signed by its chairman Senator Richard Gordon and 13 other committee members, among those who will be charged are Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Dep. Director Ismael Fajardo, former Police Colonel Eduardo Acierto, Jimmy Guban, KZ Chan, the consignees for hire, X-ray examiners and other personalities.

They will be charged with cases against the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, Direct Bribery, and violations of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards.

But conspiciously missing in the order is former Bureau of Customs chief, Isidro Lapeña.

This was after Gordon said that they found no evidence that will directly point to Lapena’s involvement in the shabu shipment.
