DIGOS, Davao del Sur – With only a few days left in the campaign period, the Hugpong ng Pagbabago continues to strategize to boost the chances of its candidates in the May elections.
In an interview on the sidelines of the campaign caravan in Davao region, HNP founder and chairperson Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said that they want the majority, if not all, of the candidates to win.
“Itong last month na ito meron kaming suggestions na binigay sa mga senatoriables to further boost their candidacy,” Mayor Duterte said.
Likewise, she said the HNP volunteers will continue to campaign for them.
In the latest Pulse Asia survey, at least nine of the 13 HNP candidates made it to the Top 12: Cynthia Villar; Sonny Angara; Bong Go; Francis Tolentino; Imee Marcos; Bato dela Rosa; Pia Cayetano; Bong Revilla and Jinggoy Estrada.
Two more candidates, Koko Pimentel and JV Ejercito have also big chances of winning as they are rank 12th and 16th respectively.
According to Mayor Duterte, who serves as HNP campaign manager, they expect more black propaganda against the administration candidates.
“Lahat naman ng black propaganda, lahat ng paninira actually lumalabas lang kapag campaign and elections. Yes, ready tayo diyan, I grew up in politics 1987 pa lang nasa politika na si Mayor Rody Duterte so this is nothing new,” she added.
Among HNP candidates, Tolentino, Revilla and Estrada are the latest subjects of black propaganda.
Reports said that Tolentino allegedly distributed food stubs to people in Bulacan which he vehemently denied.
The former presidential political adviser has cautioned the public to be wary of claim stubs bearing his photo and saying that the stubs can be exchanged for free rice and grocery items.
