Hugpong campaign won’t be derailed by viral drug video.

THE video linking her family to the illegal drug trade will not stop Hugpong ng Pagbabago founder and chairman Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte from campaigning for the administration candidates.

In fact, she said, the team will campaign harder to ensure the victory of the senatorial candidates allied with President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Ito yung promise ko kay President Duterte in 2016 when I told him na huwag siya tumakbo but if he decides to run I will fully support him. Ito yung isa sa mga tulong ko kay President,” Mayor Duterte said in an interview.

Earlier, at least two videos were released by a certain Bikoy narrating the involvement of some members of the First family in the illegal drug trade operated by alleged international syndicate.

The first video showed how Paolo Duterte is earning at least P25 million from drug syndicate while the second video linked President’s live-in partner Honeylet Avancena and their daughter Kitty.

According to Mayor Duterte, she got information that the third video will link her husband Atty. Manases Carpio.

But instead of investigating who are behind the video, Mayor Duterte said they will remain mum on the issue and just wait if there are cases to be filed against them.

“ Ako naman sa lahat ng mga accusations, ready akong sumagot, ang gusto ko lang, it is in the proper forum kung meron i-file na case sa Ombudsman or meron i-file na case sa mga courts,” the presidential daughter said.

For this week, the HNP to which Mayor Duterte is the campaign manager, will barnstorm Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Compostella Valley.

The HNP is supporting 13 candidates, namely, former MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino; re-electionist Sens. Sonny Angara; Cynthia Villar; JV Ejercito and Koko Pimentel; Maguindanao Rep. Dong Mangudadatu; Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano; Bong Go; former police chief Bato dela Rosa; Ilocos Gov. Imee Marcos; former journalist Jiggy Manicad; and former Sens. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada.

Mayor Duterte also questioned the timing of the release of the video saying the target is her and the elections.

“Kita din naman natin yung sinasabi nila since 2010 yung data na sinasabi nilang meron sila but it’s now 2019, bakit ngayon lang lumabas? Nung 2016, tumatakbo si President Duterte hindi nila nilabas yung issue na yan. Ibig sabihin ngayon lang naisip na gumawa ng ganun because it’s election season again,” she stressed. (JESTER)
