WITH the inclusion of senatorial bet Francis Tolentino, nine of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago bets are now in the Top 12.
This is based on the survey of Pulse Asia conducted March 23-27 with 1,800 respondents.
Independent candidate Sen. Grace Poe remains the top choice of the voters, should elections be held today.
Tolentino’s entry in the Magic 12 dislodged opposition bet Mar Roxas, who ran for president in 2016 but lost to President Rodrigo Duterte.
The other eight candidates of Hugpong ng Pagbabago who made it to the top 12 are Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara, Bong Go, Pia Cayetano, Bato dela Rosa, Bong Revilla, Imee Marcos and Jinggoy Estrada.
In the last Pulse Asia survey, reelectionist Koko Pimentel, also a HNP bet, was included but this time finds himself in 14th place.
Other independent candidates in the Top 12 are Nancy Binay and Lito Lapid.
Voter support for Tolentino increased to 35.7 percent, from 32.1 percent in the February survey, while Estrada voter support increased to 35.2 percent from 33.9 percent.
HNP founder and chairman Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has said she is not expecting to get all the 12 seats in the Senate but would be grateful if they get the majority.
Reacting to the latest result of the Pulse Asia survey, Mayor Duterte said they are very thankful to the people for accepting the senatorial candidates of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
Previously she expressed gratitude for the support of the people for the Hugpong bets. “We are happy na the trust and confidence of the people sa mga senators ng hugpong ng pagbabago and as I said na we hope na hanggang election day nandun na yung kanilang pagsuporta,” the presidential daughter had said.
“Seven lang ang ipinagdadasal namin. Eight is swerte na. 9, 10, mahal na mahal na kami ng Diyos talaga,” she added.
