THE Commission on Elections has announced that there will be no extension of the voter registration for the May 2019 mid-year elections which will end today.
Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said long lines are expected on the last day of registration.
“We call on the public to exercise patience as long queues are to be expected in the last days of registration. However, we assure members of the vulnerable sectors such as Senior Citizens, Persons With Disabilities and heavily pregnant women that priority lanes will be provided for them,” he said.
Jimenez said registrants may proceed to the Office of the Election Officer in their respective city, municipality, district, or any satellite registration site in their area from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
He added the schedules of satellite registration activities nationwide are posted on the Comelec’s official Facebook page.
The voter registration period started on July 2.
The Comelec said that aside from applications for registration, those for transfer or transfer with reactivation, reactivation, change of entries and reinstatement of records on the list of voters will also be accepted.
