Lawyers urged to donate cash, goods for poor

March 19, 2020

INTEGRATED Bar of the Philippines (IBP) national president Domingo Egon Cayosa yesterday urged lawyers to donate cash or goods to the poor whose living conditions have become more difficult under the enhanced community quarantine.

“If all who can afford to stay in the comfort and security of their homes and comply with the quarantine protocols will lend a helping hand, more will be happy because they helped or they were helped,” Cayosa said in a statement.

He asked lawyers to “donate through your trusted, credible, and capable charities ‘pantawid’ food and basic necessities and give one month’s wage to needy family/ies in your community as a donation or loan or advanced consideration for future work so they need not leave their homes to gain access to basic necessities and make a living.”

President Duterte placed the entire Luzon including Metro Manila under the enhanced community quarantine to stop the spread of the feared virus COVID-19.
