THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) resumed gaming operations after the National Capital Region (NCR) reverted to general community quarantine (GCQ)on Wednesday.
In a public advisory, Lotto operations are now allowed to resume in areas under GCQ and and modified general community quarantine (MECQ) starting Wednesday.
PCSO said selling of lotto tickets, online Keno and Instant Sweepstakes are now allowed in areas under the said quarantines.
“Effective August 19,2020, the selling of tickets for Lotto jackpot-bearing games online Keno and instant sweepstakes shall resume in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna ,Rizal in addition to the areas under GCQ and MECQ that have already resumed ticket selling,” the advisory stated.
However, Small Town Lottery games are still suspended.
The PCSO also announced that it would roll back the lotto price to P20 to P24 in 2018 in compliance with the new tax law this measure is to encourage more bettors.
Despite the suspension of PCSO’gaming operations, Royina Garma , PCSO General Manager said the agency continued to provide medical assistance to indigent individuals.
As of August 11, the agency had released a total of P6,677,315 worth of medical assistance to some 880 beneficiaries for this month alone under its Medical Access Program (MAP) mostly on medical needs of indigent Filipino like hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines.
