Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) member Aileen Lizada yesterday reminded the public, drivers and operators of public utility vehicles of the “no fare guide, no fare increase” policy following the implementation of the P10 regular fare in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Southern Tagalog.
Lizada stressed that the LTFRB has not received any application for the fare matrix or guide from any jeepney operator or drivers.
“Wala pang nabigyan hangang ngayon ng fare matrix dahil wala namang nagbayad para i-proseso ang nasabing dokumento,” Lizada pointed out.
Lizada said fare matrix is needed because this will be PUV drivers’ fare guide in a particular route and a copy should be displayed in the vehicle.
The LTFRB is charging P520 fee for the fare matrix and an additional of P50 for each copy.
Ariel Inton Jr., of the Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection (LCSP) also reminded commuters on the LTFRB policy.
“Kaya paalaala natin sa mga commuters, kung walang fare guide hindi puwedeng maningil ng P10.00 regular fare ang drivers,” Inton pointed out.
